This section lists some anti-virus and malicious code protection programs and services. Reference to products here is for information only and not meant as a guarantee of their suitability. The e²chameleon Information Security Resource does not provide a ratings service for products.  You should check the suitability of products before purchase or use.

The ICSA Labs at http://www.icsalabs.com/index.shtml test and certify security related products as does West Coastr Labs (who can be contacted at http://www.check-mark.com).  They provide an independent view on the abilities of products to perform to high standards. Virus Bulletin at http://www.virusbtn.com/ and AV-Test.org at http://www.av-test.org provide comparative analysis of the effectiveness of anti-virus products. These resources should help you identify the product best suited to you.

The software and services page is  split up into 3 areas. Freeware lists products and services free to use for non-commercial purposes, Buyware lists products you can buy that are ideal for home or small office use and Corporateware lists products suitable for larger organisations. This is just my categorisation method, and there are lots more products out there. If there is any product you think I should add feel free to contact me.
